Survival Spanish Crash Course
The Survival Spanish course is aimed at non-spanish speaking adult students whose intention is to get around in any Spanish-speaking country. The methodology is communicative and situational oriented towards the development of the oral s and hearing comprehension skills of the student in a basic level.
Length of Course: 20 hours
Objectives
At the end of the course, students are expected to have acquired the basic linguistic skills to carry out the following activities:
CONTENTS (20-hour course)
- Make formal and informal introductions.
- Ask and say personal information (name, nationality, occupation, etc)
- Getting around in the city: ask and give directions of different places in the city, take a taxi or the bus.
- Reserve a table, asking for the menu, order in the restaurant, ask for the bill, make a claim.
- Shopping: describing things and objects, pay.
- Talk about daily activities and time expressions.
- Describe people, objects, places and events using basic vocabulary and structures.
- Express likes, dislikes and opinions.
- Ways of addressing people, Use of Tú/ Usted.
- Understanding the basic aspects of Peruvian and Latin American culture.
- Glossary of basic expressions to get around in an Spanish-speaking country.
CONTENTS (30- hour course)
- Make formal and informal introductions.
- Ask and say personal information (name, nationality, occupation, etc).
- Getting around in the city: ask and give directions of different places in the city, take a taxi or the bus.
- Reserve a table, asking for the menu, order in the restaurant, ask for the bill, make a claim.
- Shopping: describing things and objects, pay.
- Talk about daily activities and time expressions.
- Describe people, objects, places and events using basic vocabulary and structures.
- Express likes, dislikes and opinions.Talk about future plans.
- Talk about recent events (introduction to past tense).
- Spanish pronunciation (basic practice).
- Participating in daily interactions with locals and in the working environment
- Ways of addressing people, Use of Tú/ Usted.
- Understanding the basic aspects of Peruvian and Latin American culture.
- Glossary of basic expressions to get around in an Spanish-speaking country.
